Eye Care Medical Group was founded in 1978 by Keith S. McKenzie, M.D.  In 1996 Christen Allaman, M.D. joined the practice, bringing the latest technolgy and techniques to ensure that Eye Care Medical Group continues to be regarded as one of the leading eye care centers in the Monterey Bay area.  For over 25 years, medical doctors, ophthalmologists and optometrists from around the Central Coast and beyond have referred their patients to us, and our surgeons have helped thousands of people enjoy better vision.

Experienced Surgeon

Dr. Allaman is amongst the most experienced and well-trained in Santa Cruz County. He is a surgical consult for a number of eye surgeons and optometrists in the area and has performed thousands of surgical procedures. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cateract and Refractive Surgery, California Medical Association and the Santa Cruz County Medical Society.

Cypress Outpatient Surgical Center, founded in 1984 and physician owned,  has been planned "from the ground up" to ensure the highest quality of care and comfort, with special operation & recovery rooms, and safety equipment exceeding State and Federal requirements. Cypress Outpatient Surgical Center is licensed by the California State Department of Health Services, is Medicare certified, and has been awarded the certificate of accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC). The AAAHC award means that Cypress Outpatient Surgical Center has met nationally recognized standards for quality care. In order to achieve accreditation, Cypress Outpatient Surgical Center underwent an extensive on-site survey of its facilities and services. The survey team, composed of physicians, nurses and administrators evaluated all aspects of patient care. The staff is comprised of highly trained and skilled Registered Nurses, technicians and assistants dedicated in providing the highest standard of care in a warm and friendly manner making your visit a pleasant one.
