Eye Care Medical Group was founded in 1978 by Doctor Keith S. McKenzie, a pioneer in the specialty of cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation. For over thirty years, Eye Care Medical Group has been recognized as one of Monterey Bay’s finest and most progressive centers for ophthalmic care. In 1996, Doctor Christen Allaman joined the practice. Building on our tradition of excellence, Eye Care Medical is committed to the protection and preservation of the treasured gift of sight. Eye Care Medical Group offers comprehensive clinical eye services that include medical and surgical evaluation and management of ophthalmic conditions and diseases, including but not limited to the following areas of focus: cornea, cataract, glaucoma, retina, diabetes and dry eye. Our highly experienced team of doctors, technicians and staff is dedicated to providing the highest quality, most technologically advanced and consistent care in an environment where the safety, dignity and comfort of each patient is paramount.
Eye Care Medical Group and Cypress Outpatient Surgical Center is equipped with the latest in diagnostic and surgical technologies to deliver state of the art ophthalmic care. Our surgeon offers the latest refractive procedure technology with the use of lifestyle intra-ocular lenses (IOLs) in cataract and refractive IOL surgery, designed to reduce dependence on eyeglasses after surgery.
An expert in his field, Dr. Christen Allaman is a skilled, board-certified, experienced ophthalmologist who has dedicated his medical career to improving patients’ lives. Dr. Allaman has performed thousands of procedures on patients’ eyes, and is an expert in small incision, sutureless cataract surgery with intraocular lens implants, as well as laser surgery for glaucoma and diabetic eye disease. Additionally, in 2008, Dr. Allaman became one of the first eye surgeons in the state of California to implant the new accommodative intraocular lens implant, the Crystalens.
